I am saddened to relay that one of my best friends has passed away. I will re-post what I recently said on facebook:

Over the past few days, we’ve been discussing how Alex Lewis has made a huge impact in all of our lives. There are a lot of things in life we just don’t and won’t understand and this is one of those things. We will always have the memories of those Alex-moments and dreams of experiences we wish we could have. Alex was more than just a friend because he went above and beyond the definition of a friend. I will never forget my image of Alex… his soft knock late at night, his blue jacket, his kindle, and after telling Alex about my day, him telling me, “Jon, you’re story wasn’t interesting, but let me tell you something that is…”

Alex is going to be missed by many.

The grieving process has made me think I want to start a digital magazine of all things creative. As I work this out in my head and see if it’s feasible, expect more information to follow.

Aside from the recent tragedy, things were moving along, yes slowly, but moving along for my film, “Out.” I will still continue with the film, but have decided to dedicate to the memory of Alex. He was very eager to help me when I was ready, and I was very much looking forward to it.

The past sixteen months have taught me so much through so many experiences I never thought I would have to deal with for a much longer time… Life is short and fragile; make the best of it, enjoy yourself while getting along with everyone, even frat bros and hipsters.
